But if we ever do build such a narrative, it would probably turn on these points:I think he's right; these are clear statements of fact. The reason we need a well-regulated capitalism (and I'm in favor of capitalism) is because the moneyed interests will do exactly what he says they are doing. And they are doing it right now, and we seem powerless to stop them. I don't know what the answer is, but part of it as to be explaining to the American people exactly how they are getting screwed and pledging to help them.
First, it would turn on some well-crafted statement of an obvious fact: Big Moneyed Interests will try to loot you. They’ll do it every time—till they’re stopped.
Second, it might turn on a second obvious fact: Big Moneyed Interests will send tribunes out to deceive you. They will lie in your faces—till they’re stopped.
