In an angry and very audible outburst, Representative Joe Wilson, Republican of South Carolina, interrupted President Obama’s speech Wednesday night with a shout of “You lie!”He's sent a formal apology and presumably Obama will accept it. But it does kind of lend to the narrative that Republicans aren't really interested in improving healthcare, but are focused on keeping the status quo.
His eruption — in response to Mr. Obama’s statement that Democratic health proposals would not cover illegal immigrants — stunned members of both parties in the House chamber.
The best part will be when Rush Limbaugh lionizes Wilson later on today, as a hero for standing up to Obama.
