Please Don't Shoot Each Other

Good Morning Everybody! : )

Here is your mission for the day; please don't shoot each other over disagreements about the war.

In a Kentucky Flea Market, two men disagreed over the war in Iraq. Both had guns, and both apparently drew their firearms. Douglas Moore, 65, who supports the war, shot and killed Harold Wayne Smith, 56 who opposed it.

I don't know exactly what this means; it's obviously very sad for the family of Smith and we have them in our thoughts. But what does it mean for our national ongoing discourse? I can't think it means anything good.

I also don't see this as a partisan story - both men drew their guns. While I'm sorry for Mr. Smith and his family, he's not a martyr. He shouldn't have drawn his gun and he shouldn't have let his argument escalate to the point that it was handled through violence.

So given the chance, take the peaceable way.
